All 14 sessions £60. All payment requests will be online via your club account.

Fee includes pool entry and coaching.

Successful Brecon Triathlon 2016 (posted 10/6/16)

Brecon Tri 2016
Brecon Sprint Triathlon 2016

The Sunny Bank holiday weekend saw Brecon host its annual sprint triathlon where nearly 200 competitors from far and wide competed in three disciplines, a 400 meter swim, 20 km bike ride and a 5 km run. This annual event is organised by the Brecon Triathlon club and is renowned throughout the triathlon circuit as a fun and friendly event for both beginners and experience triathletes. The event was held at Brecon Leisure Centre. Competitors started their race in the pool before entering the transition area based in Coleg Brecon car park for a quick change ready to embark on a 24km bike ride around the country roads of the Brecon Beacons, coming back in to transition for another quick change into running shoes ready to head off around the Groves for a 5 km run. Finally returning to the finish line at Brecon Leisure Centre to pick up their well-deserved medal , t-shirt, a piece of home-made cake and welcome refreshments supplied by Brecon Triathlon Club members.

This year's winners included some local triathletes and club members: the overall Male winner was John Williams with Rebecca Templeton winning the overall Female. Mark Simms (Male Vintage Vet), Julieg Harding (Female Vintage Vet), Mike Pfeiffer (Male Super Vet), Ros Edmonds (Female Super Vet), Willis Wilson (Male Vet), Lynn Bulbeck (Female Vet) and Liam Browne (Male Youth).

Race director Aled Edwards said "it was great to see some of our local club members winning some of the categories this year and fantastic to see some new faces winning here too. With the commitment of club members and volunteers making the event as successful as previous years. The club have received lots of positive feedback from the competitors which makes all the hard work worthwhile and just spurs us on to make this event even better next year".

The race medical support was covered my Brecon Mountain Rescue and donations were collected at the cake table. In all £400 was donated to BMR.

We were lucky with the weather again this year which is great as it brings out so many local people to support this local event and gives the competitors a true Brecon welcome. Brecon Triathlon Club organises swim coaching, bike rides and run training, and is open to people of all abilities.
